Summary:
Team Natsu had taken a job, and something had happened to Lucy. Natsu felt odd when he touched her, but held her anyway. After-wards, Lucy had night-mares about Natsu turning into some beast, and gets an odd mark on her hand. What's going on? Will Natsu turn into Lucy's night-mare, and hurt, possibly kill his friends? Or will he protect her and the guild from on-coming evil?...

~Normal POV~

BOOM

The explosion sent the group flying back wards, colliding with the hard brick wall. They all slowly and shakily crawled back to their feet.

"Natsu..." The blonde started, her hair over her eyes. "When this is over... Remind me to kill you." She growled, shooting him a harsh glare.

The pink-haired boy cowered back slightly, frightened of her menacing glare. "I-I'm sorry, L-Luce..." He stuttered. "I didn't know this was going to happen." He held out his hand to help her get to her feet.

Lucy gladly took his hand, and stood up. She leaned on him for support a moment until she got her balance back, then went over to a small blue-haired girl, and helped her up.

Natsu glared at the man that approached them. He had slicked-back black hair, and piercing violet eyes. He wore loose jeans, and black tenni-shoes. He had on a black, short-sleeved shirt with a symbol on his left hand. It was a squiggly line with dots lining it and a zig-zag line going the same way, wings on either side. The wicked mage had a wide. insane smirk on his face.

"You're going down!" Natsu declared, flames licking up his arms.

The blonde stood beside the red-haired mage, and pulled out a key. "Open! Gate of the-" She stopped her chant when the man shot her a look. Lucy's eyes widened, her lips slightly parted as she let out a whimper.

She started shaking as tears came to her eyes, her head throbbing with pain.. All eyes turned to her when she dropped the key she had in her hand. Lucy's eyes squeezed shut, and she gripped her head. Another whimper escaped her mouth as tears started slipping down her pale cheeks.

"Lucy?" Erza whispered, taking a step closer. Concern and confusion covered everyone's features except for the mage they were fighting.

"It hurts..." She whispered, barely audible, and her knees buckled. Lucy sat on her legs, hunched over gripping her head as her breathing got faster and louder. Whimpers and sobs escaped her mouth, getting louder until she was screaming. "IT HURTS! IT HURTS SO BAD!" She wailed, falling over onto her side, gripping her head tighter. Her breathing soon was ragged and harsh, especially when she breathed in. "I CAN'T BREATHE!" She cried. "STOP IT! IT HURTS!"

Natsu's eyes widened, and he raced to her side. When he touced her, he felt a shock run from his finger-tips then through the rest of his body. He shook it off, and wrapped Lucy in his arms. "Go fight Guran!" He yelled, cradling the still screaming Lucy.

When they charged at the man, now known as Guran, Natsu turned back to Lucy. "Lucy, calm down. Shh, it's okay." He whispered, but loud enough for her to hear.

Lucy was shaking uncontrollably, and letting out shrill screams. She had one hand gripping her hair, the other tugging on his vest. "NATSU!" She wailed, tears pooling down her cheeks. "MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! IT HURTS! IT HURTS SO MUCH!" Her eyes opened to look at him a moment before squeezing them shut again, screaming.

Natsu had looked into her eyes, and saw what she felt. Pain, confusion, fright, and many other emotions were all mixed in her deep, brown orbs. His jaw clenched, then held her closer. "I'm here. Try to breathe, Luce." He murmured over the fighting and Lucy's strangld wails.

She tried breathing but it was still harsh and ragged. "It can't, I CAN'T" She whimpered, getting louder with each word, then started wailing again.

"Lucy, calm down!" He shouted over her. Then, he remembered something Mira had taught him a while back to help calm someone down. "Lucy, try counting to ten."

"One..." She muttered, breathing rapidly. "T-two.... I can't I CAN'T! IT HURTS!"

Natsu rocked her. "Try, Luce. Try." He whispered, gently.

Lucy swallowed, and started again. "One..." She murmured. "Two..." She took a deep, harsh breath, and whimpered. "Three..." Her body started relaxing but her breathing still was harsh and ragged. "Four..." She took another deep breath, her tears slowly stopping. "Five..." Her breathing calmed a little, and her grip loosened. "Six... Seven... Eight... Nine... Ten..." Now she was completely relaxed, and her tears stopped.

"Lushee? You okay now?" A small, blue-furred exceed whispered, gently putting a paw on her arm as she looked at her with large, worried eyes.

Her eyes slowly opened, and she switched her gaze to Happy. She opened her arms wider, and Happy crawled on her, curling up on her chest. She gently stroked his fur, supporting him with her other arm.

A small smile came to Natsu's face as he watched Lucy cradle Happy like he was a normal cat. Natsu looked at the others, who had just knocked out Guran, and nodded. "She's fine." He told them, and they all let out sighs of relief. Natsu turned his attention back to Lucy to see her sleeping. Happy had also fallen asleep, curled up just above her breasts.

His smile widened slightly as his expression softened. He removed one of his arms from around her waist to under her knees, then stood up, careful not to drop her.

"She's sleeping." Natsu whispered to ther others.

"Must have been totally worn out from the fighting then that screaming. Then Happy just relaxed on her boobs." Gray said, and something inside Natsu irked at Gray's comment.

A tic mark appeared on natsu's head, and he restrained himself from punching the ice-make mage. "Let's get back to the guild." He said, and started walking.

~Natsu's POV~

I held Lucy, bridal style, all the way back to magnolia, which was an hour walk from where we were. Happy and I always make fun of her weight, but the truth is... She's not heavy at all. She's really light and easy to carry.

Everyone walked ahead of me, and I kept my gaze on Lucy's face.

At night, I'd sneak into her apartment, and jump in bed with her. But before I fall asleep, I always look at her face to tell if she was having a night-mare or a dream. The other day, she had a night-mare, so I had wrapped her in my arms to comfort her. It worked, and she had cuddled on my chest. She seemed relaxed, but when she woke up, She 'Lucy Kicked' me out of her apartment for being a pervert. But I wasn't! I was only trying to comfort her.

Soon, we had arrived at the guild, but no one was there except for MiraJane.

She looked up at us with surprise. "What are-" She stopped when she saw Lucy in my arms. A small smile came to her lips, and she lead me to the infirmary to lay Lucy down.

"I think I'll stay here tonight, Mira." I told the bar-tender as she left. She closed the door behind her, and I sat on the edge of the bed. My gaze never left her face as I pulled the blanket over her.

Her face was strained, and she fidgeted a little, meaning she was having a night-mare. I laid beside her, over the blanket, and pulled her into an embrace, careful of Happy who lay peacefully between us like he was our child or something.

Wait... Why am I thinking like that? Oh well. I thought, shrugged, then closed my eyes.
